Angelina Jolie Set To Star In Remake Of Disney Classic “Sleeping Beauty”

The 34-year-old actress would play the lead role in a reimagining of the film entitled ‘Maleficent’, which would re-tell the classic tale from the perspective of the evil fairy who casts a spell on the princess which eventually sees her sleep for a hundred years.

‘Alice in Wonderland’ director Tim Burton – who is famous for his gothic movies – is also rumoured to be involved with the film.   The screenplay is being written by long-time Disney collaborator Linda Woolverton – who worked on ‘The Lion King’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast’.   Angelina is currently shooting ‘The Tourist’ with Johnny Depp in Venice, before she records the voice of Tigress in animated sequel ‘Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom’.   The Oscar-winning beauty’s next movie, action thriller ‘Salt’, will hit cinemas in July and August.

Cheryl Cole The Celebrity Most Searched For

Cherly Cole – Girls Aloud singer pictured above leaving a radio station in France 03.25.10 has been named as the personality most searched for by people playing on the internet on their telephone handsets, and her ‘Fight for This Love’ video has been crowned the most downloaded song and video clip.

The 26-year-old beauty strolled ahead in the results – which were put together by the Orange Digital Media Index (ODMI) – and received over 40 per cent more phone searches than ‘Hannah Montana’ star Miley Cyrus, who came second, and ‘Twilight’ hunk Robert Pattinson, who was placed third.   Paul Jevons from Orange, said: “Mobile searches are a real barometer of fame and reflect the public’s fascination with celebrities when on the move.”

Cheryl also fought off stiff competition when she topped the most downloaded music tracks and video download polls.  The Black Eyed Peas song ‘Meet Me Halfway’ was the second most sought after track, while Lady Gaga’s single ‘Bad Romance’ came in third.   Robert Pattinson made another appearance in the top 10 video downloads, as droves of fans of his ‘Twilight’ movies downloaded the ‘Twilight: New Moon’ movie trailer – making it the second most popular video.

Wax Robert Pattinson Unveiled & Fans Go Crazy

Robert Pattinson the ‘Remember Me’ actor has become the latest star to be immortalised with a lookalike at London’s Madame Tussauds, and some of his fans were invited to a VIP unveiling to meet the imitation this morning (25.03.10).   Robert fan Katie Sear said: “The figure looks really great! Just like him – his hair is spot on. It’s amazing, almost like meeting the real thing! I’m sure people are going to love it; he is just gorgeous.”

The waxwork has the trademark messy hair and narrow-eyed expression of the real Robert, and museum organisers are in no doubts that he will quickly become one of their hottest attractions.
Madame Tussauds’ spokesperson Liz Edwards said: “Pattinson is one of the hottest celebs on the planet. We are delighted to be able to give them the chance to cosy up with their idol here at Madame Tussauds and judging by the reactions of the first to meet him here this morning he is set to top our “most kissed list of celebrities very quickly!”

Britney Spears’ Mother Has Moved In With Her

Britney Spears the ‘Toxic’ hitmaker – who is still under the conservatorship of her father Jamie Spears – is said to have asked Lynne Spears to live with her in Calabasas, California, much to the shock of the singer’s boyfriend, agent Jason Trawick.

A source told America’s OK! magazine: “Jason felt like he had absolutely no say. But he let it slide because Britney’s mood improves by leaps and bounds when her mom is around, and Lynne helps at defusing fights between Brit and her dad.”

Britney and Jason’s one-year relationship has been tempestuous of late, with the couple reportedly splitting briefly at the end of February because they had been arguing constantly.

A source said: "They were fighting a lot and have not been getting along. They both just needed to take a break from each other. It wasn’t working out."
In January, the 28-year-old pop beauty dumped Jason, 38, after discovering he had been flirting with two women at Los Angeles’ Roger Room bar before getting back together.

Britney – who has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline – and Jason started dating in March 2009. They split briefly in August, but soon reconciled.
Since their romance began, Jason has proposed to Britney several times.

Via EW.com  Simon & Schuster — publisher of Tori Spelling’s two previous best-sellers, sTORI Telling and Mommywood —has signed the actress to her first children’s book, Presenting…Tallulah, the tale of a spunky little girl who is constantly told what not to do: not to wear jeans, not to get dirty. Tallulah, illustrated by Vanessa Brantley Newton, goes on sale September 21 (Spelling’s third adult title, uncharted terriTori, will be out in June). “I love reading to my kids. It’s our special time together,” Spelling said. The book’s jacket looks very much like a young Tori.  But the name?  According to S&S, Spelling just likes the name Tallulah.  Source

Brooke Mueller Back In Rehab Over Alleged Crack Cocaine Addiction

Mother-of-two Brooke Mueller – who has 11-month-old twin sons Max and Bob with husband Charlie Sheen – was reportedly admitted to The Canyon rehabilitation centre last Tuesday (09.02.10) for substance abuse after an “out of control” night of partying with her husband.   A source told gossip website Radar Online: “Brooke has been in denial about her problem for a long time.  “She’s smoking crack and she’s drinking heavily. Everyone around her wanted her to get help.   Her mother has been attempting to convince her to go into rehab for a while now.”

Brooke’s return to rehab came just one day after Charlie’s arraignment hearing on felony and misdemeanor charges relating to his alleged assault on her on Christmas Day (25.12.09). However, shortly after the Aspen court visit – which saw terms of a restraining order against Charlie relaxed – the pair apparently partied together in Los Angeles before Brooke was urged to seek help for her problems.

Another source added: “She went on an all-nighter. She was just out of control. They partied that night. She didn’t stop. “It was just more of the same with Brooke. Her mother had been begging her to go into rehab. “It got to the point where even Charlie told her to go to rehab because of their kids. She had one final party, drinking pretty heavily, and Charlie was with her part of the time. But when he left it didn’t stop. The next day she was in bad, bad shape and that’s when she went into rehab.”

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actress – who lost her battle with cancer last June – was “controlled” by her long term partner Ryan O’Neal and friend Alana Hamilton Stewart, one of her closest pals has claimed.   Kate Jackson – a friend of the actress for over 40 years – said: “I was shut out. I was prevented from saying goodbye to one of my best friends.”   Recalling the day she learned she had been banned from seeing the star, she added: "I was walking across the lobby at her apartment, and as I got toward the elevator, the security guard yelled out ‘Ms. Jackson, no-one upstairs.’   “I turned around, looked at the guard and said, ‘What?’ I was stunned. I walked over to him. I was really incredulous because this particular guard and had seen me from the beginning. I asked him why and he said he didn’t know, but it had come from upstairs.   “From that moment on, we weren’t able to see or talk to Farrah again. It was very upsetting."

Kate later confronted Alana, who insisted she was acting on Farrah’s wishes as the actress – who made a documentary about her cancer battle, Farrah’s Story’, which aired in the US weeks before her death – didn’t want to be seen looking so ill.   Kate added to Radar Online: “Alana told me that was what Farrah wanted, because she didn’t want anyone to see her like that. That, to me, didn’t make much sense because the whole world was about to see her like that in ‘Farrah’s Story’. It didn’t sound right.” 

Kate agreed to comply with the request, but admits she regrets not defying the order.  She added: “On the miniscule possibility that what Alana said was true, I did not wish to do something against Farrah’s wishes and just burst in. On the chance it was Farrah’s wishes, we all didn’t want to upset her. Michael Jackson’s Doc Could Be Cleared Or Found Guilty Over The Same Piece Of Evidence

Both the prosecution and the defence have submitted a voicemail left by Dr Conrad Murray – the last person to see Michael alive – on the day of the late Thriller singer’s death on June 25 last year.

The defence will argue that the call, according to police reports left at 11.54am, shows Conrad wasn’t in a frantic state trying to administer emergency life saving rescusitation to Michael – who died from an overdose of anaesthetic Propofol – at the time.   The prosecution will, however, say the call was made as Michael lay unconscious or already dead at his rented Hollywood home, and Conrad was either not in the room when Jackson passed away or not paying attention to his patient’s needs.

In the message, to another patient, Conrad sounds calm as he says: “This is Doctor Murray, Bob. Hi, how are you?  Sorry I missed you. Just wanted to talk to you about your results of the EECP.   “You did quite well on the study. We would love to continue to see you as a patient even though I may have to be absent from my practice for, uh, because of an overseas sabbatical.”

Conrad’s lawyers will claim the Police’s timeline is incorrect and use the message as evidence pointing towards the police bungling their inquiry into Michael’s death – thus discrediting early interviews with Conrad by the Los Angeles Police Department.   A source told the News of The World newspaper: “It’s clear from the voicemail that Murray is not a man who sounds frantic, worried or in a stressful position.   "But if the police’s timeline is correct, then he would have been almost an hour into giving Jackson CPR."

Conrad – who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter – claims he administered Michael with Propofol, then went to the toilet for around two minutes, and upon returning found he star wasn’t breathing.   Records submitted to the court claim the doctor was on his mobile phone for 47 minutes between 11am and midday, while an emergency call from one of Michael’s bodyguards was made at 12.21.

The District Attorney’s Office say Conrad never informed them of these calls, which could work in the prosecution’s favour.   Another source said: “The fact that Murray made this call and didn’t tell the police about it may be useful to the prosecution.  "Basically, it shows he was being evasive and had something to hide. Why would you not tell the police about every single thing you had done during those crucial moments when Michael Jackson was dying?"
