Tori Spelling to Write a Children’s Book

Via EW.com  Simon & Schuster — publisher of Tori Spelling’s two previous best-sellers, sTORI Telling and Mommywood —has signed the actress to her first children’s book, Presenting…Tallulah, the tale of a spunky little girl who is constantly told what not to do: not to wear jeans, not to get dirty. Tallulah, illustrated by Vanessa Brantley Newton, goes on sale September 21 (Spelling’s third adult title, uncharted terriTori, will be out in June). “I love reading to my kids. It’s our special time together,” Spelling said. The book’s jacket looks very much like a young Tori.  But the name?  According to S&S, Spelling just likes the name Tallulah.  Source

Brooke Mueller Back In Rehab Over Alleged Crack Cocaine Addiction

Mother-of-two Brooke Mueller – who has 11-month-old twin sons Max and Bob with husband Charlie Sheen – was reportedly admitted to The Canyon rehabilitation centre last Tuesday (09.02.10) for substance abuse after an “out of control” night of partying with her husband.   A source told gossip website Radar Online: “Brooke has been in denial about her problem for a long time.  “She’s smoking crack and she’s drinking heavily. Everyone around her wanted her to get help.   Her mother has been attempting to convince her to go into rehab for a while now.”

Brooke’s return to rehab came just one day after Charlie’s arraignment hearing on felony and misdemeanor charges relating to his alleged assault on her on Christmas Day (25.12.09). However, shortly after the Aspen court visit – which saw terms of a restraining order against Charlie relaxed – the pair apparently partied together in Los Angeles before Brooke was urged to seek help for her problems.

Another source added: “She went on an all-nighter. She was just out of control. They partied that night. She didn’t stop. “It was just more of the same with Brooke. Her mother had been begging her to go into rehab. “It got to the point where even Charlie told her to go to rehab because of their kids. She had one final party, drinking pretty heavily, and Charlie was with her part of the time. But when he left it didn’t stop. The next day she was in bad, bad shape and that’s when she went into rehab.”

This is the second time Brooke has visited a rehabilitation centre in recent weeks.  Last month she stayed at the Two Dreams Outer Banks treatment centre in North Carolina over alleged substance abuse problems, following a stay in hospital for pneumonia.  Photo: Fame Picture

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden Are Getting Married!

Socialite Nicole Richie confirmed yesterday (15.02.10) that she is officially engaged to her rocker boyfriend Joel Madden – with whom she has daughter Harlow, two, and five-month-old son Sparrow – when she appeared on ‘The Late Show With David Letterman’, showing off a large engagement ring.   She then joined friends at New York restaurant Abe and Arthurs, where she was overheard talking about her impending nuptials.

A source said: “She was glowing. She was telling her table how happy she was.”   Good Charlotte singer Joel, 30, later confirmed the news – revealing they had managed to keep their engagement secret for some time.   He tweeted: “Yep. I’m engaged. Very happy.  “Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same (sic)."  The couple denied that they had plans to marry as late as last year, and were in no plans to rush into tying the knot.

Nicole said: "One day I would love to get married. It’s not something we’re talking about right now. If my kids ask me to get married, I’d get married.  "I think for both of us, we are going to do it because we want to, not because that’s what you do. Avril Lavigne Dating Brody Jenner?

The ‘Sk8er Boi’ singer – who filed for divorce from rocker husband Deryck Whibley last October, a month after they separated – has been enjoying a low-key romance with the 26-year-old reality TV star for several weeks.   A source said: "They’re hooking up but they’re keeping it low-key." 

Despite trying to keep their romance out of the public eye, the couple recently enjoyed a dinner at Los Angeles restaurant Koi before heading to nearby nightspot Voyeur, where they amazed onlookers with their flirty behaviour.   Another source told E! Online: "You can tell they’re into each other and both like to have a good time. They’re cute together."

Since splitting from Deryck – who she was married to for three years – Avril, 25, has been romantically linked with actor Wilmer Valderrama and oil heir Brandon Davis, but pals insisted she was just friends with both men.  Brody was most recently dating Playboy playmate Jayde Nicole, but they split in December.  After revealing she and Deryck were to divorce, Avril insisted the pair would remain friends.

She said: "Deryck and I have been together for six-and-a-half years. We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I am grateful for our time together, and I am grateful and blessed for our remaining friendship.  "I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him. John Mayer Branded “Kind, Caring & Compassionate” By Children’s Charity

The ‘Gravity’ singer has come under fire over a recent interview he gave – in which he described sleeping with ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpson as like "a drug" and used the word "n****r" – but has now been defended by The Isaac Foundation, which raises money for children with a rare enzyme deficiency known as MPS VI.

On the official blog, the organisation wrote: "I don’t care what Playboy magazine writes about the man, and I don’t care what John says to the journalists that write what they do about him. In America, it’s all part of the game – get in a magazine, light up the blogosphere, stay relevant – end of story." 

John – who is more famed for his womanising ways and wild sex life – has donated money to the group as well as spending lots of time with Isaac, the little boy with MPS VI whose parents founded the organisation.  

The foundation added: "I know he has said things that turn people off. I know he’s said things that make him sound like someone you would never want your children around – ever. But I also know the person that he truly is and the good things he tries to accomplish with the celebrity status he’s achieved.  "Write what you want about John, think what you will, but before you hand down your verdict on what kind of person he really is, please consider the good he has done in his life."

Farrah Fawcett’s Friends Were “Shut out” & Banned From Seeing Her Before She Died

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ actress – who lost her battle with cancer last June – was “controlled” by her long term partner Ryan O’Neal and friend Alana Hamilton Stewart, one of her closest pals has claimed.   Kate Jackson – a friend of the actress for over 40 years – said: “I was shut out. I was prevented from saying goodbye to one of my best friends.”   Recalling the day she learned she had been banned from seeing the star, she added: "I was walking across the lobby at her apartment, and as I got toward the elevator, the security guard yelled out ‘Ms. Jackson, no-one upstairs.’   “I turned around, looked at the guard and said, ‘What?’ I was stunned. I walked over to him. I was really incredulous because this particular guard and had seen me from the beginning. I asked him why and he said he didn’t know, but it had come from upstairs.   “From that moment on, we weren’t able to see or talk to Farrah again. It was very upsetting."

Kate later confronted Alana, who insisted she was acting on Farrah’s wishes as the actress – who made a documentary about her cancer battle, Farrah’s Story’, which aired in the US weeks before her death – didn’t want to be seen looking so ill.   Kate added to Radar Online: “Alana told me that was what Farrah wanted, because she didn’t want anyone to see her like that. That, to me, didn’t make much sense because the whole world was about to see her like that in ‘Farrah’s Story’. It didn’t sound right.” 

Kate agreed to comply with the request, but admits she regrets not defying the order.  She added: “On the miniscule possibility that what Alana said was true, I did not wish to do something against Farrah’s wishes and just burst in. On the chance it was Farrah’s wishes, we all didn’t want to upset her. The Brittany Murphy Foundation Is No Charity!

A supposed charity launched by Brittany Murphy’s widower Simon Monjack and her mom Sharon Murphy is not what is seems to be.  The charity is suppose to be a charity dedicated to arts education for children.  For a charity to be a charity it has to be registered as such with the IRS or the state of California.  Now they have been soliciting money by several websites and by law any foundation soliciting money has to disclose the fact that it is not registered as a nonprofit..

TMZ called the foundation to find out about this and the website was take down for maintenance shortly after.  Something seems fishy here to me – Simon could have waited to get the papers filed before he started this – what was the hurry.   Simon really seems like a lowlife maybe the reason Simon did not wait is he wanted to line his pockets a little. 

Michael Jackson’s Doc Could Be Cleared Or Found Guilty Over The Same Piece Of Evidence

Both the prosecution and the defence have submitted a voicemail left by Dr Conrad Murray – the last person to see Michael alive – on the day of the late Thriller singer’s death on June 25 last year.

The defence will argue that the call, according to police reports left at 11.54am, shows Conrad wasn’t in a frantic state trying to administer emergency life saving rescusitation to Michael – who died from an overdose of anaesthetic Propofol – at the time.   The prosecution will, however, say the call was made as Michael lay unconscious or already dead at his rented Hollywood home, and Conrad was either not in the room when Jackson passed away or not paying attention to his patient’s needs.

In the message, to another patient, Conrad sounds calm as he says: “This is Doctor Murray, Bob. Hi, how are you?  Sorry I missed you. Just wanted to talk to you about your results of the EECP.   “You did quite well on the study. We would love to continue to see you as a patient even though I may have to be absent from my practice for, uh, because of an overseas sabbatical.”

Conrad’s lawyers will claim the Police’s timeline is incorrect and use the message as evidence pointing towards the police bungling their inquiry into Michael’s death – thus discrediting early interviews with Conrad by the Los Angeles Police Department.   A source told the News of The World newspaper: “It’s clear from the voicemail that Murray is not a man who sounds frantic, worried or in a stressful position.   "But if the police’s timeline is correct, then he would have been almost an hour into giving Jackson CPR."

Conrad – who has pleaded not guilty to a charge of involuntary manslaughter – claims he administered Michael with Propofol, then went to the toilet for around two minutes, and upon returning found he star wasn’t breathing.   Records submitted to the court claim the doctor was on his mobile phone for 47 minutes between 11am and midday, while an emergency call from one of Michael’s bodyguards was made at 12.21.

The District Attorney’s Office say Conrad never informed them of these calls, which could work in the prosecution’s favour.   Another source said: “The fact that Murray made this call and didn’t tell the police about it may be useful to the prosecution.  "Basically, it shows he was being evasive and had something to hide. Why would you not tell the police about every single thing you had done during those crucial moments when Michael Jackson was dying?"

Katy Perry Likes Men With A “F***ed-up Sense Of Humour

The ‘I Kissed A Girl’ singer – who is engaged to British comedian Russell Brand – says the pair get along so well because they find the same unusual things funny.  Speaking about what a relationship needs to work, she said: "I share myself with people – that’s the kind of way I exist. That’s important. Also, to be a leader and stronger than me. I guess men also need the most amazing sense of humour – a bizarre f***ed-up sense of humour where we can both be people-watching and crack up at the same time without saying a word, because we know what we’re thinking.

Katy - whose parents are both pastors – also believes it is important for a man to respect her, and not expect to have sex with her early on in a relationship.   She explained: "Any guy that thinks they deserve my body after just paying for one dinner is pretty disastrous. That’s pretty bad."
